Updates, updates, updates!

First things first, I am sorry I have been so bad about updating my blog.
I'm in good health over all, radiation has really done a number on my skin but its a common side effect.
The doctor plans on another round  next week. One thing about radiation, it takes a few minutes and it is pain less, the machine looks like an x-ray device.
Thank you to all of you who have inquired about me the last few days.
A hysterectomy is out of the question for now, I want to avoid that at all cost.
The last couple of months have been strange, when you are told you are sick and
your body hosts something that doctors cant really control for sure: You become
 so appreciative of EVERYTHING~

Okay, so what are the things I really appreciate?

*Friends/Family - I called my cousins the minute I found out I had cancer and they were ready to
drop anything and fly here to be with me. I have friends who respect my privacy and understand
that some times I just dont want to talk about "it", I have friends who care and show it.
I have people I can call if I need anything and that brings me a ton of comfort. To look at the GOOD
people in my life and the quality of folks I keep in my circle, amazing!

*My dogs- We all know I love them but being home w/them forced me to get out of bed.
Some days I felt depressed and did not want to leave the house but Loui and Orielle would not
have it. They shoved tennis balls at my face and jumped on the bed until I gave in.

*Health care/Medical insurance - Cobra is so expensive. When you are sick, you
want the freedom to choose your own doctor and get a second opinion, having
a good medical plan is something I value so much more now. There are state plans but limit
you to their state approved doctors at clinics in your area.

*My boyfriend- Frank is far from perfect, just this morning he left a mountain of dirty clothes by our bed,
a used string of floss by the bathroom sink but he moved my car for me so I could stay in bed when the street sweeper came by. He acts silly when he wants to cheer me up, makes plans for us constantly, has helped me financially, puts up with my ups and downs and tells me I'm strong.

I have other GOOD news: I accepted a job at Chase and start next Monday : )
Chase seems heaven sent in some ways, my hours will be 'afternoon shift' and the medical benefits
are great.  I also will be able to maintain a class I enrolled in and attend my doctor
appointments during the day.
More GOOD news: I get to meet George R. R. Martin this Sunday, the author of a series of epic fantasy novels which have consumed me for the last two months.
I am on the 4th book and If I don't respond to texts or emails promptly, its because I am trying to finish all five books before next Sunday. My EYES!!

  1. The dogs bring such love in our lives! We are so lucky to have them. I think of you all the time and see a golden healing light around you.
